Grand Gordon was added to museum collection in 1906 as Gift of Edward D. Adams and Jacob H. Schiff.
Museum dated this specimen as "late 19th century"

Interesting, that after retirement from the army our General became the chief priest of the Kirishima Shrine.
Toshimichi Okubo, the great revolutionist and statesman of Japan, is Toshisada's blood relative (cousin)

This one was issued to Okubo Toshisada/大久保利貞 on April 1, 1906.
Lieutenant-General Okubo Toshisada (1846-1918) was in command of 17th infantry brigade during R-J war.
This doc was sold at YJ a few months ago together with his document for 2nd class scred treasure (these were broken as per usual...)
