The pin back suspension bar: is this just a decorative design or do these symbols depict something specific?

I read the left column as 特別寄附会員, tokubetsu kifu-kin kai-in  Special Contributory Member

Correct variant 特別維持會員 Special Supporting/Supporter Member.

You will find all five known vitiations of this badge here https://asiamedals.info/threads/special-supporter-member-badge-of-womens-patriotic-association.25981/

    2. Regarding donations - 1941 regulation operates with only two sums: 50 and 100 yens. I made some revisions to the text. Size of donations pre-1941  is not known to me (after 1941 all old types of special member badges were exchanged to the special merit badge that you have in your collection).

Regarding cords - as for today no official regulation was found.

      Do you have this book?

I found its content list online and there is a chapter with "Alphabetical list of holders of the Order of St. George and the St. George Arms, awarded during the Civil War of 1918-1920" (Google translate from "Алфавитный список кавалеров ордена Св. Георгия и Георгиевского оружия, награжденных в период Гражданской войны 1918-1920 гг.").

Sorry Stefan, I don`t currently own a copy of this book.

Could the "St. George Arms" be the cross given to the lower ranks?

No, only generals, admirals, staff and senior officers.

      Regarding St.George weapon see https://asiamedals.info/forums/golden-weapon-for-bravery-st-georges-weapon.761/

    4. Imperial Order of the Dragon of Annam. Military division ribbon (1886 - 1916).

It was awarded to Japanese on the same basis as any other foreign order.

Visits, diplomatic work, participation in military manoeuvres, WWI, etc.

    5. I have in my collection 4th class Rising Sun made by Hirata workshop in January 1921 (it is still in original paper wrapper with the date and name of the workshop) This is the highest time coordinate known to me for today.

Unfortunately it is impossible to determine the manufacturer of your set. In 1890s/1910s there were several private manufacturers of Rising Sun orders in Japan.

      Nick
