    1. Another early beauty. Very interesting work.
    2. Thanks Rich (forget to check your scanotec ) Interesting thing - the medal I posted is exactly the same medal that could be found at the bottom of your page ... Anyway - another "unofficial" Manchu medal
    3. I think this award is close relative of this one http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/44138-mystery-warlord-breast-star/ Cheers, Nick

    12. This very interesting and practically unknown award was issued in 1916 to commemorate victory of National Protection Army (created by Cai E and Tang Jilyo) over Yuan Shikai forces. This medal was issued in two variants: in bronze and in silver (white alloy?). Medal has several classes marked by stars on the rays. Lower class (?) has 1 star. Higher class (?) has 8 stars. Let`s take a look at available specimens.
    13. Another interesting specimen with design based on Merit Medal ...
    14. Very intersting medal... Couldn`t find anything on this one, exept that this medal was intended for Palace guards (my guess this info originates from reverse inscription - unfortunately I don`t have photo of the reverse). Diameter: 33mm Obverse Enjoy!
    15. And another example of russian Double Dragon. Close relative of specimen from post #8 only this one simply marked 84 zolotnik ;)
    16. This one looks like blend of Merit Medal and classical Shanxi relief badge. Very nice central medallion!
    17. I`ve always wondered why Chinese workshops couldn`t manufacture corpuses... Come on! Its 1 ARFE
    18. Portugese FE or the real one? Please don`t hesitate to show this mark ;)
    19. And now something completely different. Same motifs - different badge. This one was probably issued in 1928 by Shandong Famine Relief Committee. Here you see the members of this Committee. Famine of 1928-1930 in Northern China (Shandong located on the eastern edge of North China plain) took away about 3 million lifes.

    21. Komin tang decoration Interesting... Thanks mate!
    22. By the way, I have read somewhere that St. Petersburg workshops manufactured only breast star corpuses - central medallions were manufactured in China! Ain't it cool?! Cheers, Nick
