    1. Hello folks!

The V looks like the V upon the oval sleeve badge of the "Versuchs- oder Übungsflugpark". But they had a "Fl P" underneath the V.

There were only two parks: west and east.

I don´t think, it belonged to a pioneer unit. Oval sleeve badges were worn by Telegraph-units and air-force.

Some non-official badges are known, but very rare!

We might know, what the letters are. I think the 1st one is a "F" (Flieger ; Funker ; Feld etc etc).

      The 2nd one could be a Q or a G.

A single V like this was also worn by the "Versuchs-Abteilung" of the railway-troops.

Is there anything written on the reverse?

Could you please show the whole photo?

      A very interesting badge!!!!!!

    2. Hello Odulf!

Wonderful photo! Chapeau! Thanx for showing! The 1 must not stand for january. It could the 1st photo of his collection...

Sure is, the order to wear the special insignias came out in june 1917. Unfortunately we only see the front of the soldiers, because those insignias appeared on the back of their helmets too! I´ve never seen a photo of that, but it´s recorded in several histories

    3. Hi Foresti!

They haven´t had something special. The regiment was raised at 1st of august 1915. Do you know, when he exactly died in 1916? The regiemnt normally belonged to the Garde-Ersatz-Division. But in 1916 it was temprally under command of the 19th Res.Div. (3.6.16-11.6.16) and under command of the VII.Res.Corps (9.12.16-20.12.16)

The staff, the I. and II.Btl. were under command of the VII.Res.Corps (15.11.16-23.11.16)

The II. Btl. under command of the 14th bav.Inf.Div. (19.8.16-26.8.16)

The III.Btl. under command of the VII.Res.Corps (23.11.16-2.12.16)

(Recourse: Handbuch und Verbände des deutschen Heeres 1914-1918 by Jürgen Kraus)

The regiment had at the o7/10 tunic: brandenburgish cuffs, nickel-buttons, old-prussian Litzen, citron-yellow pipings at the shoulder-straps. Like all Foot-guards units NO number or chyphre on the shoulder straps

    4. Congratulations! The pictures are very rare! I have only two photos of the 208.

Once of the RIR65 and one of the staff of the division (just a single horizontal bar). Note the 208 sleeve insignis for the Fernsprech-Abteilung of the Inf.Div. 208.

I still have another question to the photo of the car. Could this insignia stand for the Kraftfahrer-Abteilung of that division? A horizontal bar with a surmounted circle? I´ve never read anything about that, but it could be...

    5. Hello Chris!

The top-pocket reminds me at the bavarian officers Litewka, but they had another collar.

I think it´s a "mix" from an original bavarian Bluse 15 (introduced in Bavaria 1916) and some additions after the war.

The stamp says, it comes from the bavarian 10th Inf.Rgt., B.D.III (Bekleidungsdepot III.bayer.AK) , distribution centre 342(?).
