    1. I know the scans look like from sci-fi movie but that's not important My question is - is the bar OK? MVO and MVK in one bar? How can that happen? Was an NCO awarded with MVK and later promoted to officer and awarded with MVO?
    2. Does anyone have some experience with that seller? He's selling some items like this MVK3 without swords which I believe is fake: Militär-Verdienstkreuz, 3. Klasse, Messing verkupfert, einteilige Prägung. Die MVK ohne Schwerter sind selten.
    3. Nice plate. This what I found: and http://users.skynet.be/rutrene/marks08.html
    4. Gents, I have no knowledge on medal bars but in the short period I've spent on this forum I hope I learnt at least something. So let's test me... This one is currently being sold 'somewhere' and here I try to summarize why I believe it's a fake. 1) At first since there's MVK3X and Honor Cross with swords we can say that this one belonged to a combatant. 2) Then we have here 2 medals - Luitpold Medal and Ludwig's cross - awarded for efforts done on the homefront - both on incorrect ribbon (or is the Luitpold's only faded out?). Ludwig's Cross is on long service ribbon? So combatant vs. non combatant? 3) Then the Long Service Cross - I believe it's for 15 Years as a Reserve Officer? Shouldn't there be an MVO instead of MVK since guy was an officer? So am I correct on at least 50%? ;)
    5. Just looking at the white borders on the arms of the cross and on the device visible between arms... This one is also possible (in lower classes e.g. commanders class...).
    6. This one is being sold as an MVO 2nd class. Should it not be in gold? Is it a good one? http://www.sixbid.com/nav.php?p=viewlot&sid=167&lot=8004
    7. Hello Gents, arrived today, cross made of zink, swords are iron (once they might had been silvered) . Any chance of recognizing the maker? Thank you in advance!
    8. One more thing...I posted a question about a good book dedicated to MVKs in the library section (http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=39128&pid=362444&st=0&#entry362444). If something comes up to your minds please let me know. Thank you.
    9. Guys, many thanks for the info. Now I have at least a replica made of a period item I'm not sorry for the money I paid for this cross, I'm sorry for a good cross with swords that has been destroyed by some faker. So we only can laugh right now as I paid only 29 GBP for it. Was it worth to make this fake? A nice MVK3X goes for 25-30 GBP. Now thinking of the effort that someone did to convert this cross I can't see any profit. Thx again
    10. Guys, I have this cross for a couple of months and I believe it's a fake. I would welcome any opinions of bavarian collectors here. Thank you very much guys in advance.
    11. Hello TacHel, thank you for the info. I don't have this medal and have no intention to buy it (i'm into WW1 bavarian stuff). I've just seen it for sale for some 50 EUR and was curious what was it awarded for etc. Thanks again for the info
