Ok then .....like i said im clueless with stuff like this

ah so thats what it is... Im quite useless at this stuff myself i was just handed all the medals and i did my best to work them out. I dont know wether to get the Iron cross professionaly restored to its former glory or what i dont want to devalue it any what would you suggest along those lines ? I know restoring it may cost abit but for something as historical as a iron cross it could be worth it even if it was worn through many a battle during ww2

Thank you for the welcome my pictures are rather primative...need a new cam im afraid but its deffinatly a CMD or LMD the pictures dont clearly show it but i've just received it in the last few days as it was in my grandfathers safe untill recently The marks are on the little clasp thing on the back there no bigger than 1.5mm going across the clasp horizontaly

I looked through the markings what were usualy placed upon the iron crosses and the marking on mine wasnt there could any of you please help me understand the mark on it....It could be either CMD or LMD i've had it appraised as genuine because of insurance purposes which made me even more confused about it Thank you for any help you can give me
