    1. And another one, a documented group of badges belonging to an Honorary Contruction worker (welder) Yondon Tovuu.

Alexei mentions his bio is published in the Mongolian Directory on Heroes of MPR, Labor Heroes and People's and Merited Title holders so will have to look that up later. Maybe somebody can help translate. The group includes:

      - Outstanding Construction Worker of Mongolia Badge (NB mentions quite some detail: made of German silver, goldplating and enamels. Hungarian manufacture) which comes with a blue hard cover document hand signed by Minister of Construction of Mongolia Mr. Pleihan. Awarded in 1976

      - Badge for 60th Anniversary of Mongolian Construction Sector. Made of brass and red enamel. Awarded in 1986. Comes with a paper back document with an original ink stamp of the Ministry of Construction.

      - Badge for Leadership in Socialist Competition of the 5 Year Plan. Awarded to in 1974. Comes with a paper back document bearing an original ink stamp on the Ministry of Construction, signed by the Minister.

I THINK (but not sure) I've found this guy in the blue bible as well (page 492 on top) but will keep scanning to reduce uncertainty... pics in a minute. The surname looks currect (Tovuu), not sure about the first name. Perhaps in my doc's it's abbreviated.

    2. - Outstanding Construction Worker of Mongolia Badge (NB mentions quite some detail: made of German silver, goldplating and enamels. Hungarian manufacture)

Suspect the country of manuacture is derived from the reverse of the suspension which - at closer inspection - actually shows a small mintmark:

      - an "m", a line below it, and a "w" below that

      - below this sign, the word "MET"?

Scanning the blue bible... page after page... to find this person

    3. Bingo! :jumping:

For the large group, I've found in the big blue book the bio related to the merit medal! Page 662. It gives the date of awarding (1981-07-09) which matches with the date in the document I have and it also provides a number (233) which appears to be a decree nr (there are more awardings of the same award on that date).

Remember, this merit medal is organized in "groups" in the book... presumably categories such as art, science, etc. - and the 233 represents a decree I believe cutting across those categories.

First - matching pics: bible vs. polar star doc

    4. Before diving into the detailed scans, a picture (from the Polar Star booklet) and an overview off the recipients "career":

      - X01 Champion of he socialist competition - 2739, awarded 25-8-1958

      - Inventor Medal (nr 351), awarded 23-12-1958 (i'm matching this award as per the seller to the small top righthand brown document)

      - K02 ministry of industry outstanding worker, awarded 17-5-1960

      - Order of Polar Star - 11069, awarded 23-3-1964

      - Medal 50 Years of the Mongolian People's revolution, awarded 25-6-1971

      - L14 The outstanding worker of energy sector, awarded 25-3-1974

      - Shockworker of the 5th five year plan, awarded 25-11-1975

      - Order of Merit - unnumbered, awarded 9-7-1981

      - V11 The outstanding educator of the young generation, awarded 24-6-1987

      - Medal 70 Years of the Mongolian People's revolution, awarded 26-6-1991

      - Medal 80 years of the mongolian peoples revolution, awarded 14-6-2001 (twice!)

      - L23 Honorary Badge energy sector 80 years, awarded 2002

Some other documents in the group:

      - large "socialist competition" badge document without the badge... awarded 18-8-1956

      - large udarnik document without the badge... awarded 14-10-1954

      - another large document which, judging from the first page, may be the alternative / correct inventors badge doc... awarded 28-6-1967

      - large merit kind of document, awarded 28-9-1956

      - small brown document for probably a mining badge - awarded 1957

Undocumented are a polar star and two mining/oil badges

Quite a good sunday afternoon for photographing / resizing / posting!

    5. Another group... first an overview

      Awarded to Sereenen Dagva Ochir

Aside from the overload of documents, some very specific interesting elements:

      - the documented (apparently) inventors medal

      - the documented badge of the title of merit (another person to look up)

One polar star is undocumented and we may never know whether it does or does not belong to this group. Same for a few of the badges.

      Close ups to follow

    6. Group of Khaidav Gungaajav:

      - Medal 60 Years of the Mongolian Peoples Revolution - 14-7-1981

      - 60 Years of State Security - 1982

      - Order of Polar Star - 265575 - 18-6-1991

      - M23 - The Outstanding Worker of the Trade and Service - 1996

      - Medal 85 Years of the Mongolian Peoples Revolution? - 2006
