Just when you think SB's have dried up, new ones pop up. Check out the Mongolian section of Dmitry Markov's upcoming auction (the prices of some badges are shall we say rather "high" by the way!!!)!

What number is this guy wearing?

Yes, this picture is not my friend order , he haven't give me picture.
Well, then probably there's not much for us to comment on here at GMIC since most likely we don't know your friend either. In any case, if he's your friend, probably that should be a good reason to believe him, no? Or just go by his house, have a beer and enjoy the A1

Thought I'd post this in the thread (as booklets are focus)... now, how to recognize the "mark"?
"decision of the presidium of small hural and Council of Ministers OF MNR for №2'-2"of 16 May of 1941 g.)
26. After death of that rewarded the relatives of the latter during the year are obligated to return its orders into the presidium of small hural. In the order book the corresponding mark is done, and itself it reveals to the hands to the relatives of dead person as memory about his merits. "

My frined tell me his friend have a hero order , i don't believe that
Is the picture one of the A1 your friend has? Reverse pic possible?
I do understand there's an A1 "in play" on the market at this time as I've also been felt out about my interest to acquire one.

Sign indicating the exhibition... but the museum was closed all winter
If I'm not incorrect:
- the Georgian is wearing medal awarded by Germans to foreign "volunteers"
- the German is wearing badge of the Georgian legion (which clearly did not consist of only Georgians)

Yes. The lowest recorded pinback is still 813 (with 788 the screwback high, so we have a narrow "window).

Now... to start googling to find Soviet award winners (?) related to Texel uprising!
Does anybody know the website with bio's of Heroes of the Soviet Union?

Don't laugh... this is the airport

Looking back at the road, ready to drive to the small airport on Texel where the military and aeronautical museum is located with a permanent exhibition of the Georgian rebellion!

The cemetary is called "Loladse Soviet Cemetary" named after Schalwa Loladsa, commander of the Georgians on Texel
Note, 476 Georgians buried here.
After the liberation / end of war, 236 Georgians returned home (that return trip in itself is already quite an interesting story!)

This also explains perhaps why the auction catalogue is more than Dmitry Markov posts on his site. Why offer an SB for sale at say 2.5K if you know that there'll be people bidding it up well over a reasonable market price anyway?
