    1. I have a uniform of a Belgian General periode 1935 and there are quite some Belgian ribbons on it but i can't ID the last two foreign ribbons. Can anyone help me please?
    2. Hello Timo, It seems that the two ribbon bars belong together. The blue ( medal Order of Leopold II ), red ( medal Order of the Crown ) and black/yellow/red ( military medal 1st class ) are medals you deserve when you serve some years in the military. The other medals ( third and fourth ) are WWII medals and the last is indeed the commemorative medal for good and loyal service to King Albert I during 18 december 1909 en 18 februari 1934.
    3. Here you see the ribbon bars from my uniform from Vice-Admiral Poullet, Chief of Staff of the Belgian navy between 01-01-1986 tot 30-09-1989 1. Commander in order of Leopold I 2. Grand Officer in order of the Crown 3. Commander in order of Leopold II 4. Military cross first class 5. French legion d'Honneur ( i guess ) 6. Unknown 7. Unknown If someone can help me identify the last two, i should say, be my guest :D

Netherlands Order of Orange Nassau 4. Luxembourg Order of the Oaken Crown 5. Luxembourg Order of Merit 6. France Legion of Honor 7. Hungary: Order of Merit (Commander) 8. Italy: Order of Merit 9. Benin: National Order (Officer) 10. Belgian Military Cross, first class 11. ? 12. Italien UNO-medal Still one, number 11... I have searched for several hours but without result... Hope we will find the last one... THANKS!!!

    7. Hello Tony, Thank you for the reply, learned something today! I know the story about the bars on Belgian uniforms because we have the same tradition that at some point a senior officer must have typical medals... I try to find uniforms from UK senior officers but always prefer the ones with some "bars" on because that tells something about the man who wore the uniform. Not easy to find however

    10. Dear Love4history, The uniform was indeed worn by General Van Daele, Chief of Staf - Belgium Army. I can now because he gave me the uniform I know, i should have asked him for his medals at that time, but i was so impresed by the men and it was such a good conversation that i was home before i knew it...
