    1. Ibrahim I might also add that they were also made of zinc and solid. Here is my Wernstein in need of its" bi-annual pest removal. Any mention of this type in the book you have? Robert
    2. Joe Correct about NS-Hago. Astute observation. Beleive it or not, I actually parted with my NSKG!! Needing to accumulate funds for a large tinnie purchase on layaway from an esteemed European collector. Oh, and Don, would you know how the Eagle is secured to the rest of the badge? Robert
    3. Don Here we are. Joe may have a point about silver/bronze. I can't see any remnants of bronze or brownish toning on mine. Perhaps it was cleaned at some point? Have a Good day Gents. Robert
    4. If I recall, Peter J. has a pin-back example like Dons in his collection. I don't beleive they come in diferent grades although I could be mistaken. Regards Robert
    5. Don I notice too a larger gap between the I and the M in Willi Merten. Perhaps as you suggest a diferent die. Cheers Robert
    6. Don Do you mean the attaching pin and plate or the face of the badge itself? The diferences I see between our 3 badges on the front is waer of the black, especially the arms with the small ys on the end. There are traces of them on my example just barely visible under a loup. Stephens has worn away a bit also but the ys can still be seen with the naked eye. I will search for more diferences as time permits. Feel free to move mine around as you wish for a side by side view of front and reverse. Robert
    7. I thought i would post my 1942 example. This particular badge is present in one of Angolia's references. A member of another forum has that particular book and hopefully he will help shed some light on these. Will inform as information becomes available. I personally don't like this badge. Why so many 1942's would be my first concern. A respected collector/dealer went so far as to tell me there were more 1942s because that was the first year of the Axis alliance in World War.
    8. Gents Look what I found! It remained on Detlev's site until 11:30 Friday. A finely crafted badge if I do say so myself. Robert PS The lower right arm of the Swastika is not chipped. Just a dustbunny on my scanner from lack of use.
    9. Don Very nice. Are there dues stamps inside? Thanks for showing this as it is not often encountered. Robert
    10. Peter James will probably chime in after all of us are retired for the evening. Don, sorry about that. I couldn't remember if I had posted the DSB before or not. Brain Freeze! Robert
    11. Hmmm. If Ihad 40,000 Euros of disposable funds I would put a nice down-payment on a home on Cliff Island. I am sure you know where I mean Paul. Robert
    12. Gents A nice Summertime selection to post wouldn't you say? have A Nice Weekend. Robert PS They really spared no attention to detail with these gems.
    13. Nice What badges are they wearing in post 11? Mr. Afleck was probably there working on a peace deal. HA HA Or, most likely, looking around for a suitable replacement for Jaylo. Thanks for posting. Have a nice weekend. Robert
    14. No doubt the original owner of your badge was very proud of his achievement. So much so he hid it so well it took 60= years for someone to find it. The desk is a treasure too. Are the joints dove-tailed? Robert PS How was the pulse rate when only you knew what you had found? I get that way on the rare occasion when I get a nice flea market find but nothing in comparison to this.
    15. Nice catch Eric. It never ceases to amaze me how a piece like this has stood the test of time so well. Congrats. Robert
    16. Pete Thank You. A first sighting for me. Hard to imagine how the tag stayed so long. Your the man.
    17. Gents Traditionsabzeichen klein 18mm I thought I would put it in this section. No RZM designation as it is supposed to be. Robert PS Don or Nick please feel free to move this to HJ section.
    18. Another nice one Don. Quite an effort was made to manufacture that badge I suspect. Would I be correct in assuming that the attaching pin setup is designed to be worn on a uniform? Although I have no military badges it looks similar to some I have glanced at. Nice badge! Robert
    19. Thanks Gents Yes, it is quite heavy and does not have the dreaded crimped vertical pin plate like the M1/34 Frauenschafts we see out there. If memory serves, Thuringia had one of the highest if not the highest majority in voting for National Socialism and had a very high percentage of the population in the NSDAP. Its a keeper for me and will be resting next to my Saarfalz badge as they are similar in shape and size. Robert Don Tafel 21. Correct.
    20. Gents I am not in the habit of acquiring an award I have never seen before but I couldn't resist the enamel work and craftmanship of this piece. Would anyone here have one to show or have a reference to its' existence? Attaching pin plate marked Wernstein/Jena. Thanks for looking and have a good day. Robert PS The speck by the "I" in Thuringen is from my scanner, sorry
    21. Peter Yours looks slightly diferent than mine including the knurling on the needle being 2 more knurls higher. Under the tarnish I can see some solder as well on mine. If you like and Don feels inclined or Nick for that matter, we could move our obverses and reversestogether for comparisons sake. I need to spring for a decent measuring device and thank you for the scan. Is there a brand name on it? Finally, and most importantly, what did you have for Sunday dinner? My wife is from Navala, Finland and if I twist her arm she makes a great dish called Pasti. Is that served in Sweden as well? Good Sunday Robert
    22. Peter I would love to measure mine for comparison to yours. Could you tell me what you use to get such exact measurements. My metric ruler isn't quite up to the task. Digital caliper or some such thing? Happy Sunday Robert
