I've tried to enlarge and clean up the image a tad and put arrows on the area's of concern. I also noticed the uneven lower feathers/wings by the legs and the eye looks to be right on top of the head. Hope this helps.
Chris
Thanks Chris.
I posted the spange and the medal bar on the Imperial Forum....spange is a possible add-on, and from what you are saying it seems to be a fake add-on at that!!
The price for the entire bar was the price to buy an original ek2 spange...i thought it too good to be true...
Cheers

Monkey fingers "improving" a bar by ruining it.
I was thinking the Spange was an add-on...but is it an original spange? I really do like the bar in general!
Thanks

Can you get a better shot of the head? It looks like a Ziemer & Sohn (has a big eye), but would like to confirm with picture. Jim
Hi Jim,
These are the only pictures i have. This bar is a potential purchase. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Gents,
I was thinking of purchasing this medal bar. I medal and ribbon bars with Hanseatic Crosses!
Does the bar look ok? I am not sure about the EK Spange.
Thanks

Tom,
Are the medals on hooks? If purchased from eBay i would say the seller removed the KVK2 so the bar would not be removed from eBay.
Great find! Congrats!

Here a typical bar of a high officer who served in Austrian-Hungarian KuK Army and later in the German Wehrmacht. You can notice the repetition of the same ribbons; no way to tell is which is which on a ribbon bar...

Ciao,
Claudio
Claudio,
This is a fantastic medal bar. Why did he not get the German Honor Cross 1914-18?

Gents,
This cross a good one? It looks a little different to the one on my medal bar...it is also non-magnetic. I know there were non-magnetic ones made from tombak, but this does not look like tombak.
Could it be a post-war Souval cross?
My thanks

And the reverse. Is the screw fastener missing?

Gents,
This EK1 OK? The cross is magnetic and slightly vaulted.
It is the reverse that puzzles me. I have never seen one like it. Is this an acceptable example?
My thanks
