    1. In 1998 a new law on decorations of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was passed. This law introduced 63 decorations divided in orders (17), grand decorations (5) and medals (7). Some of these decorations were the same as the decorations of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, some were just slightly different (for example using the new coat of arms instead of the old one or instead of the five-pointed star). This law on the other hand introduced some completly new decorations such as grand decorations. As i wrote before there were five of them: 1. Medal of Obilić, 2. Medal of Honour, 3. Medal of Cvijić, 4. Medal of the White angel and 5. Medal of Philantropy. Medal of Philantropy (Medalja čovekoljublja) was awarded for helping the sick, wounded and internally displaced persons or refugees above and beyond the call of duty.
