One more Serb with Lion and the Sun

Stojan Novaković (Стојан Новаковић), I read somewhere that this picture was taken in 1898 while he was Serbian envoy to Constantinople.

Do you happen to know the names of those Bulgarians awarded with 1st class Partisan Star?

Unfortunately nо, I'm not very familiar with Bulgarian generals and officers from that era so I forgot their names almost instantly

I saw quite a lot of 1st class stars in Bulgarian National museum of military history, unfortunately taking pictures is forbidden. I presume that the most of the Bulgarians received this order on the Syrmian Front where they fought together with Yugoslav and Soviet forces.

Museum sounds like a very nice idea, but on the other hand as much as I would hate seeing it become someone's super yacht anything's better than just letting it rot.

I didn't know that, thanks for info If the medals were awarded to Indian and Burman citizens as well then that 1200 doesn't sound that big anymore

I have came across various numbers from 250-300, 500 to 1200. To be honest when I think about it 1200 sounds like a too big number considering the fact that it was awarded to individuals who accompanied Tito during this trip. I have read somewhere that there were around 500 of them. So that could be the actual number of awarded medals. In any case one of the rarest Yugoslav medals.

By the way it is strange that ribbonsshop doesn't have ribbon for India and Burma medal but offers for example ribbon for Yugoslav Spain Fighters medal which, according to some sources, should be even more rare...

I am not certain about the exact number but 1200 is mentioned on couple of places.

These fakes that I have mentioned are more recent, to be honest I do not know were they faking this particular medal that long ago...

Now that we are talking about fakes, also watch out for the Medal for Yugoslav Fighters in Spain (1936-1956), Medal for Merits and Order of the Partisan Star (last two are heavily faked).
