Greetings Martin and welcome to GMIC.
I posted a list of British recipients HERE, your grand uncle's name is there of course. Company sergeant major John Moore was awarded with Silver Soldiers' Star.0 -
Thank you very much for those photos. Just a few of them are circulating the internet and they are not very good.
In my opinion this first type/prototype looks much better. Too bad they didn't keep/accept that design...
It would be great if someone could reveal the story behind it, were they being awarded at all or not?
Anyway here's one of those other photos found at sammler. IKOM perhaps, number is different and the screw nut is very unusual.0 -
Dear Jovan,
I can't thank you enough for posting that document! May I ask you is it a part of your collection? If not could you please tell me where is it kept? The recipient in question is brother of my direct-line ancestor!
It must be extremely rare because even Car&Muhić wrote that it's not known were documents being issued for the first type of Serbian Red Cross Order (Principality era type). This is the first time I see it!
Regards,
Radmilo0 -
Don't mention it, it took only couple of minutes.

Illustration of what Paul said, quickly made in photoshop.

That idea did cross my mind so I took a closer look. So far everything seems fine, the details look very good, especially when we have in mind that this is a miniature. Some other genuine ones I've seen are nowhere near that quality.

Thanks Paul, I can see the resemblance.

SERBIA MEDAL SERVICE PRINCELY HOUSEHOLD 1878-1882 MINIATURE
Unbelievable, until recently I knew only of one example, not this is the fourth miniature I see in less than a month.

First thought, Frankenstein, but the back side of the star doesn't look that promising, I see you also have some doubts regarding the marks. Authentic or not, does anyone have an idea what could that star be? Or maybe it's a completely "original" design specially made to be combined with St. Sava eagle.

Just checked out other auctions, some of the ribbon bars from this lot don't look authentic to me.

I've seen ribbon rolls and metal applications being sold separately so I guess it's possible someone bought them and started making ribbon bars from original material.0 -
One from my collection for comparison.

Fantasy? It seems that the two-headed eagle is from St. Sava Order.

Here's one more. I think the red star is actually for Yugoslav Flag 4th class.

Order of Freedom fake ribbon bar. The golden star looks like the ones used for early shoulder boards.

Larry, thank you very much for the link.

Thanks for clarification, so the box is original but Albanian. I visited seller's website and noticed he has one more Yugoslav decorations in a box like that. Apart from that few orders are in wrong Yugoslav boxes.

Thank you, Odulf! You are right about the location, this person served in Yugoslavia.
Is that rank of Unterwachtmeister that he holds?0 -
Greetings,
A friend is doing ancestral research and asked for my help. Third Reich is really not my field so I'd be grateful if someone could identify uniform and rank.
Notice a barely visible patch on the left sleeve, Ordnungspolizei perhaps? Unfortunately this is the only photo of him in uniform.
Also what kind of research is possible based on the person's name and date and place of birth and death?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0

Just beautiful! I can't find it on their website. Considering the size it must be Grand Officer, but it's a bit smaller than it should be.
