    1. Hi all,

My 1st and 2nd Class Spanges. The 1st is a very cheap repop... the other I thought was an original till I posted it here. Again thank goodness for the GMIC! :jumping::jumping: And in that instance I was going to put it up for sale and had it not been for GMIC I'd have done so, unwittingly passing on yet another bad piece which is something I'd never knowingly want to do.

    2. Hi all,

I think the topic title and description say it all. These were the Spanish version of the award the Germans gave for same. They're of totally different design. I love this one since it incorporates the Iron Cross as part of it's design. Plus it's having an eagle, crown and the Kremlin Towers... it's just got everything.

I used to have three cased Orders of the Crown, one being a neck order. But those went in trade... one of the items I received was my 1870 2nd Class Iron Cross. I see the Orders of the Crown quite often... but not the 1870's. I think I did the right thing... although I would love more of those Crown Orders eventually as they are quite nice, especially cased.

    4. Hi all,

Have had these for some time and thought they might be of interest. The green one is I believe Grenztruppen (Border Guards) and the white one Army.

For those who might not know these were worn on the shoulders of band members tunics. They are attached by means of an eyehook system so they can be easily removed when the tunic needs to be cleaned.

The tassels (I assume) indicate a more senior ranking member... probably a Sergeant.

I've only shown one of each as they are identical.

    5. Hi all,

Here's the rest of my Japanese medal collection... at least for now. I do hope to add more in future but seems the ones I've run across in my time have been a bit on the pricey side of things.

I liked this one due to it being cased as I tend to be a sucker for gold, enamel and cased awards... so this definitely fit the last bill. And it was surprisingly cheap for the quality of the case alone.

Again no idea of class or what it says, either on the case or the medal. Also, please ignore that kind of milky look on the scan or the lines as it's the scan, not the case. The case is a beautiful gloss black deep enough to swim in. And has no imperfections. I think the reflections caused a problem and probably need to clean my glass again.

      First the case. Full front:

    6. Hi all,

This is one of my underdogs. It's obviously missing a piece but I got it for super cheap as part of a trade... more a throw in than anything... but I still think she's beautiful.:jumping: I do wish I could find the piece to replace it but for now I figured I'd pop her in and share her with you.

As I'm not very expert in this area and have no Japanese specific Order/medal references I'm not even sure of the class. Also what does it stay on the back?

      Dan
