Here's my latest... I'll also show my Master badge which I've had for ages. One difference between them is the Master has the DDR arms on the flag at the top of the wreath and this one only has the flag.

These are the sellers pics and I'm guessing due to the lighting used it looks more like a gold than a silver. So when I have it in hand I'll redo scans and repost. Hoping to have it later this week.

Well overdue per Bryan's request and with many apologies for it taking me so long here are scans of the badge. At the time I originally posted I didn't have a scanner, only my digital camera which I've upgraded long since. I'll also pop in pics of my latest of this type... also in silver but with a twist.

Just for the heck of it... here's the silver hollow/solid back I've had forever and a day... but want to definitely know what type... CL, Prototype or Type 1?

Hi all. I was hesitant to post down here for opinions but having looked through and seen several members do so I figured I'd pop it in.
I just picked this up. It was advertised as a Condor Legion although I'm still trying to learn the differences as in Hamelman's reference there are Condor Legion, Prototype 39's and 1939-45 1st Type. So hoping those of you who are more adept at this can tell me where this one falls along with confirming that it's a good one. Although, if this is not a good one then I think it's time for me to hang it up as I'm not seeing anything that is giving me a red alert... Kirk to the Bridge on this one.
Anyhow, here goes. Hoping for some opinions and info.

Mervyn... I absolutely LOVE these daggers! Have wanted one forever and a day... even a nice replica but so far... no luck. One of these days...
Here's some info: The MSVN is the Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale or Voluntary Militia for National Security. Here's a good bit of info on them:

Hope this helps.

Hi all,
Just got this one last night and although I'm not seeing anything that's giving me even a pause I figured I'd run it past the membership. As always, any and all opinions most welcome. But I have to say... if this one turns out to be a bad one... then I think it's time for me to just hang it up.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Also, I'm still learning the differences between the Condor Legion and other pre WW2 WB's... so is this one CL or ?

Hi all,
I need to put out a request for a photo or photos (with permission to use in a personal display) of Bruno Dilley (Luftwaffe Stuka Ace and RK with Oakleaves holder), especially any in color. Any such pics would be deeply appreciated. I've found a few on the web but many were marked. Again I would like to use same in a personal display at home.
Many thanks!

Great thread! Please keep it going.
The one thing that has burned itself into my mind from our visit to the battlefield many moons ago... about 25 years or thereabouts... was one lone marker where a trooper fell. Nothing anywhere around him... just the grasses blowing and looking like waves on the ocean. Deathly quiet. What a lonely place to spend your last moments. I hope his end was quick and fairly painless. Hate to think of him lingering or especially still being alive by the time the warriors and then the squaws got done with the bodies.
I've got a pic on 35 mm... will have to try and pull them out and scan it at some point, if anyone would be intro'd. I took quite a few pictures while there. I'm sure alot has changed.
