    1. Hi Mike. I'm not an expert but I did some translation and research and this is what I've come up with. I may be wrong but hoping I'm at least in the ballpark:

Sztandor PSP wraca do kraju = Banner PSP returns to the country

NOTE: PSP stands for - Polskie Sily Powietrzne (Polish Air Forces)

Medal Pamiatkowy dla = Memorial medal for

      z okazji = the occassion

      Swiatowego = The World

Zjazdu Lotnikow Polskich = Congress of Polish Airmen

      komitet organizacyjny = Organizing Committee

      Warizawa - Deblin 3-7 September 1992

So it seems that this was a memorial medal to commemorate the occassion of the return of a Polish Airforce banner to Dublin to Warsaw Poland from the 3rd to the 7th of September 1992. I'm assuming both the event and the medal were produced by the organizing committee of the world congress of Polish airmen.

Silly question but is there anything on the reverse? Or perhaps on the top of the case?

Here are some pics and info I found on the return of banners/flags from a Polish Air Force squadron... if you click on some of the links you can see the pics:

      http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://odkrywca.pl/pokaz_watek.php%3Fid%3D450591&ei=nvoUS8nPFIS8ngf1rtziBg&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CBEQ7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3DSztandar%2BPSP%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX

Anyhow I hope I'm at least near the mark on this. I've got to head to work but if no one else responds when I return I'll see if I can dig up anything else.

Oh, and the eagle with the wreath pictured on the medal is a Polish pilots badge. Here are some examples:

      Hope this helps.beer.gif

    2. hello, your scan is too little... it should be centered on the only medal please. We can't see the surface pebbling.

For now these are the only pics I have. I've requested more of just the medal and loop, both obverse and reverse. Will post if I receive them. But other than the surface pebbling do you see anything that raises alarm bells or does it look okay for the most part?

      Thanks!beer.gif

    3. Thanks Pete!!!!cheers.gif That's one that hadn't occurred to me. I did a quick search and believe I've nailed it:

      http://www.johncasino.com/Fahentrager%20Der%20NSDAP%20Gorget%2010366.htm

Now I just have to wait till he has it in hand and can do scans of the back... and then need a confirmation that it's original and I think we've got a winner!

Shame the gorget isn't with it though.

Couldn't have done it without your help!jumping.gif

      Thanks!!!!beer.gif

    4. Hi all,

I'm trying to help a friend of mine to ID this chain that he got in a grouping. This is only a partial pic but the rest of the chain is the same.

The only thing I could think of when I saw it was that it is possibly part of one of the chains of office used by Burgermeisters and such worn for ceremonial and official occassions during the Third Reich.

I did a search on the web and the only pics I could find were one of the central medallion for such a chain but it didn't show the chain itself. The other is this one of Richard Wendler, Mayor of Hof, Germany, and an Obersturmbannfuhrer in the SD wearing the Chains of Office of Mayor.

Anyhow hoping one of our members will know what it is and would be willing to give some additional information on it. Any additional info would be deeply appreciated!

      Many thanks!beer.gif

    5. Hi Helen,

Here's some of what I could find for you:

      https://store.bluebookinc.com/InstantAccess/Model.aspx?product=4&id=90

Go to the bottom of that page for a Model 100.

Then an article on the Model 100:

      and more pages of same:

There seems to be a bit more info here and there when doing a Google search. Anyhow hoping this helps out.beer.gif

    6. Dan,

The International Tourist Year tab;e medal is interesting. It appears to be in a Hungarian type of case but it is a French medal. Can you post the top and bottom of the case please.

      Regards,

      Gordon

      Hi Gordon,

Will be happy to but will have to wait till they arrive. Hoping it won't be more than another week or so. Soon as they get here I'll do pics and pop them up.

      Thanks!beer.gif
