1. Hi Haupmann, I?ve some Hungarian Comm medals in my collection, but I don?t know nothing about they.

If you?re interested I?ll trade this group for any medal from before 1945, (european), better german,or romanian, german, bulgarian, etc...

      Thanks

Please tel me about the medals I?ve; the extreme?s medals...I suppose that they are a pair od GC&LS medal...?

      Thanks a lot

      Miguel

      Hi Miguel,

Thanks for letting me know on the group and for the pic. I "may" be intro'd but the problem is I don't think I currently have anything left to trade. I've pretty much gotten rid of all my extras, things I was not in particular need of, etc. I'll try to get the time to look back through and see if I still have anything like that but can't promise that I do.

Please send me a PM with any specific wants and if possible a price for the group if you just want to sell it outright. Perhaps we can work something out.

As far as telling you more about them I think Charles or Gordon could do a much better job on that. I've still got alot to learn myself and I'd be afraid of putting my foot in my mouth. :cheeky:

I can say that the second one from the left is the police medal in silver which is the same as mine that I pictured right above it. The one to the right of that is I believe called the Fatherland medal and looks to be the one in bronze. The other medals I leave to the others as they're two I don't have. They both look to be 10 year awards but with the difference in ribbon I'm guessing for different branches of the military or difference organizations or?

      Dan

    2. Hi Dan - breeding these eh?

      The one is:

Order of Merit of the Socialist Nation awarded in 1967 on May 1st to 9516 of the 'die hard' old bolseviks.

Well, trying... if that doesn't work perhaps cloning? :cheeky: Many thanks for the title of the award my friend. I was at a loss on that one. Can't wait till they arrive... hopefully sometime next week. Keeping my fingers tightly crossed!

      Dan

    3. M63 Panzer Colonel tunic and pants (pants not shown). The badge on the right is the Sports Badge in Silver and the ribbon bar is Two Meritorious Service Medals, 2 Gold Service to the Nation Medals and 25,20,15,10 year service medals.

Photos are Charles (Hunyadi) and used with permission.

      Dan

    4. Hi all,

Here's my latest additional to my West German collection... from Torsten:

I used to see these when I was a teen looking through the old Replica Arms catalogs out of Virginia. Was one of the many items of military insignia they used to sell. I've still got the catalogs too! Always wanted one... but always kind of imagined they were bigger... around the size of the many Luftwaffe clasps or the Army Close Combat clasps, etc. But it's actually a good deal smaller... but very well made with alot of detail. A very nice piece and I'm happy I've finally been able to add one to my collection. :jumping:

      Dan

    5. Hi all,

A few more pieces to add. On the first three I'm awaiting their arrival from Hungary:

I don't know the name for this first one but Charles says there were only around 9,900 awarded and in it's nice case to boot:

A cased Order of Labor in silver which means I now have all three grades cased:

And a cased Bronze Fire Prevention Department Medal in what Charles says is an early case:

I'll be sure to add better pics/scans of these when they arrive and will also add them to the other appropriate threads.

Also these three pics are the seller's (Lajos Jakab - aka Qajszi on Ebay) and used with his permission.

    6. Hello

I'm not sure if these are wartime or post war, as shooting clubs and badges and medals for shooting are big in Germany. Either way, I agree, I don't think these are military awards. Have a look at S&Ls current website for example:

      http://www.steinlueck.de/index.php?rubrik=entsteht

Whatever the period, it's a very nice set.

      Hi David,

Many thanks! :jumping: I'd seen S&L's page before when I was looking for a suspension for my Federal Merit Order as well as cases for that and my first class FMO. Sadly they don't seem to list their gov't and military awards or parts for them in their catalog. :(

But agreed... a nice set and I can't wait till it arrives... hopefully early to mid week this week. :jumping::beer:

    7. Hi !

Dan, this badge is O.K.! Congratulation, this was very good buy !

Gordon ! From this badge with truck are 4 variations for transportation corps:

      - Distinguished transportation corps officer (with great red star under the truck)

      - Distinguished driver (Dan's badge)

      - Distinguished car mechanic (tools and truck)

      - Distinguished fuel stationer (fuel barrel and truck)

      Hi Zsolt,

Many thanks! :jumping: Knew it was a good one due to Charles help. He was right there alongside me when i won. It's a pretty little thing for sure.

      Dan

    8. Dear Dan,

many thanks for your information  .

      That's really a fantastic copy at a really reasonable price :D .

I just wrote an e-mail to Michael Bessler for the total costs of shipment & insurance to Europe.

      Best regards

      Christian

BTW: I also have a matching Kutuzov 2cl to that flag  .

      Hi Christian,

So happy you like and want it and hope it all works out. Mike's a pleasure to work with and delivers the goods with no worries. It's a great piece and one of these days when I get our basement redone and I have a proper display area all my flags will be going up including that one to make what I hope will be a nice backdrop to my Soviet and Warsaw Pact collections. :jumping:

And hey... as far as your Kutuzov... it reminds me of the guy who bought a Luftwaffe dagger and then sent a pic to the seller of his original German fighter plane... if you've got the one you've simply got to have the other!

Let me know when your's arrives and what you think of it in person.

      Dan

    9. Dan,

This is indeed a nice badge and as I said so delicate that I am surprised it has survived in this good a condition. Only one I have ever seen. One day I may even find out what it is actually for!

      Regards,

      Gordon

So doesn't Zsolt know? If even he doesn't know between the three of you... it's really got to be obscure! Sure hope you can find out and let us know before too long. It's a beaut!

      Dan

    10. Dan,

Unfortunately, although this is a very nice set of cased badges, these do not really fit in with the Kivalo Dolgozo thread. They would do better in the Tozsgarda thread as that is what they are. Badges for long service with a specific firm. Although I have lots of Torzsgarda pins I don't have a cased set yet. Thanks for posting the pictures. Good reference material.

      Regards,

      Gordon

      Hi Gordon,

Was kind of afraid of that. Please feel free to move them over.

      Mucho thanks!

      Dan
