    1. Hello Everyone, I have been trying to figure out what this badge is but I have not been able to find it. I know that I seem it before. If anyone could clue me in, I would be very greatful.
    2. Hello Everyone, I got this belt buckle from a friend who lives around Volgograd. She said she was out for a walk when she found this belt buckle. She was thinking that I would be interested in it. After cleaning it up, I found on the bottom of it, there are a pair of initials. I was wondering if anyone would happen to know what these letters are? I am guessing DB but I could be wrong. Since I am not familiar with the Romanian alphabet. http://postimage.org/gallery/16w19qt8/a241c4b5/
    3. Yes, if you checkout the thread. I have ones that are both plastic and cloth. I have seem ones that are metal as well. It's seem that the last one that spider posted appears to be metal as well.
    4. Also, it's seem like the navy badges never had the leather style of hangers. So it should be just a pin back badge unlike the others. It was most likely worn by all ranks, as you can see from this photo. The naval officer in the background is wearing the same badge that the sailor is wearing in the foreground.
    5. Sorry that I have not gotten back with you in a timely fashion but I found some more information on the badge. I would like to say that this badge much like the other was worn by most of the members of the navy. However, most of the photos that I have found with the badge being worn is either during parades or on their dress uniforms. I believe also this type of navy badge is no longer being used. Since, I have found recent photos of the RMN wearing a different version now.
    6. The green shield ones maybe made in Libya or another part of the Middle East or North Africa. I want to say maybe in the late 1980s or 1990s. The red-white-black could be British or maybe even soviet made since they are of high quality.
    7. Welcome to the forum and they are indeed, Syrian and awesome find. Specially the paratrooper one.
    8. Oh I made an error. You don't have two Libyan badges but you have four. The ones above the green shield ones are from the Libyan Arab Republic model. They stop wearing the red, white, and black type in 1977. Also your green shield ones are later period ones from the late 1980s and 1990s. The ones from the late 1970s and early 1980s used the Libyan Arab Republic model but just painted over the shield. I hope this helps.
    9. Thank you, Dieter3 Also I will like to Thank all of you who helped me out with this issue. Also that second award still remains a mystery to me? If anyone could translate, that would be very helpful.
    10. I wasn't talking about the Japanese forum but the red cross medal suspension topic, I should had said. My mistake.
    11. Thank you for weighting on the award, could it had been an unknown type? I have seem this style of suspension on Lesser French and Belgian awards from world war 1
    12. Hello, Thank you for weighting on the medal and would you happen to know what the other one is for and what it say on the box? As far as the shop goes, I don't remember what the name of it was. All I can tell you is that it was in Nagoya and if I remember the street. I will let you know. I did see the forum but I wasn't sure if it was ok for me to post there or not. Since it is your forum?
    13. I was in Japan not too long ago ( this year) and I was visiting a friend. I decided to go out militaria hunting and I did not have to go too far when I found a nice shop that sales Japanese Militaria. The prices was were more than fair. WW1 Japanese Ailled Victory Medal with Case for $50 and Order of the Scared Treasure 3th class for $150. At anyrate, I pick up these two awards along with a few others. Does anyone know why the red cross medal have that style of suspension? and does anyone know what the other badge is for? My friend told me that he believes it was for census of some type but he wasn't sure. I am grateful for any help that anyone could give.
    14. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone would happen to have any information on this badge? I have a feeling that this is a Police badge but I could be wrong. I was also wondering is this a chest badge or beret badge?
    15. From which republican era? First or Second? and the Spanish Army also wear this style of badge as well.
    16. I doubt that it is from the late 19th century because I have a few of the collar ornaments that were worn by the Spanish Army during the later period of the 19th century and those are much larger and are golden in color. Also I agree that it is not from a cartridge pouch badge. I got a chance to see a French cartridge pouch badge from the Napoleonic Era and you are right. It's much larger than this badge.
    17. The green shield eagles are Libyan for their army. The smaller eagles that are in the stars are Syria for the shoulder boards. I want to say the Syrian badges are gold = officer and silver = NCO/ Enlisted but I am not sure. However I know that these stars are used by both the army and navy and they are still being used currently.
