    1. As a matter of interest I will add another picture I obtained here for your viewing pleasure again Austo-Hungarian. (post WW1?) Any comments with regards the unit (Gebergsjägers)? or Forestry? Kevin in Deva.
    2. Hi Eric, unfortunately I have a conflict between my computer and scanner, if I attempt to scan it freezes up my whole computer and creates some severe hardware issues, so I can only add these digital photographs of the card, under a Lupe with x 6 magnification it looks to be a Prussian Wound Badge for sure, the helmet shape is clearly defined. Hopefully I can get a scanner up and running over the next day or two. Kevin in Deva.
    3. Hi Eric, Not sure I understand your question, the badge is the Prussian Wound Badge in Silver these were established by the Royal Decree of 3 March 1918, published in the Army Gazette (Arme-Verordnungsblatt) for 9 March 1918. On March 11, 1918 the King of Bavaria authorised award of this essentially Prussian insignia to Bavarian Servicemen under the regulations to be promulgated by the Minister for War. I have never see a picture of an Austrian soldier wearing one before. Kevin in Deva.
    4. Sadly nothing written on the rear to indicate who this chap was! Kevin in Deva.
    5. Two medals on his left breast, however its whats pinned to his right breast next to a whistle that caught my eye, a nice shiny Prussian Wound Badge in Silver! Kevin in Deva.

    7. A very nice addition to your collection, Congratulations. Kevin in Deva.
    8. Three of the medals:- Nazi Germany 1934 period Hindenburg Cross for Combatant. Austrian Commemorative Medal for W.W.1 with swords device for Combatant. The Hungarian Commemorative Medal for W.W.1 for Combatant are all post W.W.1 issue, and indicate he was a combatant who saw service with / alongside the Germans, possibly in the Tyrol. The Tyrol Service Medal I believe to be a post war issue(?) So that would leave him with the 1908 Cross for Civil servants. Karl Troop Cross for Mobilization as his wartime period awards. Without paper work probably hard to pin down. Kevin in Deva.
    9. Another very colourful piece from the R.P.R. period. Grade 2. Post screw-back. Kevin in Deva
    10. Hallo Greg, long time no hear nice looking insignia you have too, the background colours on the one I posted, in someway remind me of the ribbon for the 50th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist party medal, however the medal ribbon stripes are not outlined in gold. No idea as yet, what criteria was involved, probably good service, work practice, etc.. etc.. Lets also remember the "period" was from 1964 - 1989 so its not impossible for a few design variations to exist in my honest opinion. Kevin in Deva.
    11. "PENTRU MERITE IN PAZA FRONTIEREI" "M.S" marked broach pin attachment of the Romanian Mint. Stylized outline of Romania with red and white stripes, with R.S.R. Border marker and flag in National Colours. Kevin in Deva.

    19. Hallo Gents, Recently acquired the following:- this is one of those "common" items that falls between the clearly defined lines, a Soviet Medal awarded to a Romanian Soldier for service in WW2. It was awarded in 1946 and between the end of WW2 and 1947 can be classed as a transition period for the Romanian military before the Romanian Socialist Republic started in 1947. Kevin in Deva.
