Hallo Mervyn, believe it or not on my short visit to Bucharest in March I did not see one single policeman or police vehicle, on my daily walk with the dog I have my camera handy, just in case I bump into the local Old Bill, same for any police vehicles I may see. I will also dig around for an old cd with pictures taken at the local Police day two years ago and then post them. In between getting my ribbon bars posted in the various threads, the pictures from the Military museum and the Airforce Museum in Bucharest, and getting through Easter, garden work etc.. etc.. seems there is not enough hours in the day.     9. WW2 British / Indian ribbon bar with MID device. Medal Identification:- 1. British 1939 - 1945 Star. 2. British Burma Star. 3. British War Medal 1939 - 1945. with Mention in Dispatches Oak-leaf device. 4. India Service Medal.* * awarded to officers and men of the Indian Armed Forces for 3 years non-operational service in India, in effect, it took the place of the British Defence Medal in respect of Indian Forces.     11. Just In the door today, from Noor in Dublin, Ireland:- Garda Siochana Service Medals Uniform mini Ribbon Bar. Left to right:- 1. "Emergency" Service (WW2) ribbon for the Garda Siochana version of the Emergency Medal*. 2. "50th Anniversary 1922-1977 of the Garda Siochana Commemorative Medal. 3. Garda Siochana Long Service Medal, for 22 years service. The brass backing bar is marked: "G-I" over "G-22" A very nice bar to a long serving Irish Police officer.     12. Bar 8 of 8:- Last but not least, a single mini ribbon bar for: 1. R.S.R. Hero of the New Agrarian Revolution, or 2. R.S.R. 40th Anniversary of proclamation of the Republic Medal, Woven cloth over convex metal backing plate with clasp. Kevin in Deva. :cheers:
    13. Bar 7 of 8:- 1. R.P.R. 40th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party Medal. 2. R.S.R. 50th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party Medal. These have been very professionally mounted as they are the single woven ribbons as issued with the original medals complete with their backing plates, apparently with the pins removed and then set into a recessed rectangular brass backing plate with perspex over the top. Liberation from the Fascist Yoke Medal. Spot the slight difference between the two? A miniature metal emblem set into the inside of the perspex with painted ribbon background Aluminum backing plate.     16. Bar 4 of 8:- Faded but still discernible:- 1. R.P.R. Medal of military Merit II Class. 2. R.P.R. Liberation from the Fascist Yoke Medal. 3. R.P.R. Order of Labor - 1st Class. Woven ribbons under plastic sheet, with brass convex backing plate. Definite old school R.P.R. period piece. The owner probably would have been entitled to have a Soviet "Victory over Germany" Medal. Painted ribbons under perspex, interesting to note the perspex is in two pieces the largest piece covers the first 2 ribbons, the piece over the Soviet ribbon is slightly smaller at its apex than the other.
