    1. Hallo Gents, nice Stein, here are a couple or three, from my collection obtained from Flea-Markets when I lived in Bavaria. based in Kempten (Allg?u). Military-Police (?) The oldest one, Medical. I believe it dates to the mid-1950's. Any information with regards Number 2 & 3 would be welcome. Kevin in Deva
    2. Dear Sir, it is a time honoured method, when posting an opinion to back up the claims with pictures, and to state the source of your knowledge. (Refference books, Medal Decrees & Articles etc..etc.., otherwise it remains only an unsupported, speculative opinion. In my reference section of photographs of medals (which I freely admit to copying off the net for reference purposes) I have come across pictures of both the BMVO Cross "buckle area" looking free of enamel and with enamel. Can you offer any proof that all B.M.V.O. Crosses / pieces that do not conform to your strict guidelines are in fact: A. FAKE. B. MODERN REPRODUCTION. C. PERIOD PRIVATE MADE PIECES. I am always willing to learn about items in my collection but not just upon say-so. Yours, Kevin A. Ryan, (Kevin in Deva).
    3. Hallo haynau thank you for taking time to comment and post a picture, unlike some who offer a comment but post no pictures. The B.M.V.O. Cross was never officialy issued with double enameled medalions either, but they exsist, are we to take these are fake or reproduction, or private purchase?? Kevin in Deva
    4. Hallo Gents Sorry to say, I have no idea what Franken75 is talking about!!! And would require some more opinions of members with regards this piece. Also if he is making a reference as well, to the B.M.V.O. without swords, there is no sign of any swords having been removed as the "teardrop" space, where swords are located is perfect and shows no sign of tampering with!! Kevin in Deva.
    5. Hallo Rick, you have a beautiful bar there The only piece with regards my Bavarian MVO Crosses that has a maker mark is a 3 Form 1913 - 1921 which has the letter "D" on a sword tip. I believe its for DESCHLER & SOHN of M?NCHEN - 9. Kevin in Deva.
    6. Hallo Gentlemen, Some very nice badges presented here as well as pictures of them in wear. I was told that the German organisation D.A.V. http://www.alpenverein.de/ was originaly founded by ex-members of the Gebirgsjager Korps. I attach a picture of a 40 year membership badge, made by C. POELLATH, SCROBENHAUSEN: Its 30mm in diameter. Kevin in Deva
    7. Hallo Alex, That one is on a piece of peacetime ribbon or in other words it has not got the thin black stripes the wartime ribbon has. Its also unusual in that the reverse medalion is enameled as well!! Possibly a private made piece. Kevin in Deva
    8. So the Bavarian M.V.O. Cross section of the collection looks like this now. All I need to complete thi section is a late WW1 "Zinker" with Crown & Swords. Kevin in Deva.
    9. Hallo Gents, I recently obtained this beauty from a fellow member, Many thanks to "Roeland" Kevin in Deva
    10. Hallo Mates64 Welcome to the forum, please use the "add reply" button on your original thread, instead of opening a new thread everytime you post, its much easier and saves bandwidth, rather than starting a new thread with a reply, Kevin in Deva, (Lounge Host)
    11. Many thanks for your opinions Only picture of the box posted by the seller: Kevin in Deva.
    12. Hallo haynau thanks for the quick response would you care to give me an approxamate value / price, that one would expect to pay for an item like this?? Kevin in Deva.
    13. Hallo Gentlemen, can you give your learned opinions on this piece please. Many thanks, Kevin in Deva
    14. Unusual badge design, looks like its in shape of a shell with a number?? Kevin in Deva.
    15. Hallo Gents. the weights of the medals are: Ball Type Ribbon ring holder: 18 gram. Wire Type Ribbon ring holder: 19 gram. The ball type appears to be in Silver, and is cast. -38mm X 38 tips of the arms of the cross. The wire type appears to be in Silver-gilt, and is struck. -38mm X 38mm, tips of the arms of the cross. The Repro type is no longer with me, at Christmas time 2006, a Romanian WW2 Veteran called to the Hobby Club looking to obtain a replacement Military Virtue Medal and I made a gift of mine to him. (I hate to blow my own trumpet about this ) By the way the reason so many of these medals carry scratches, is the fact they are being checked to see if they are REAL Silver!! Kevin in Deva
    16. Close up Front, modern repro! Look closely at the style and form of the oak leaves. Kevin in Deva
    17. I believe there is a Modern Reproduction made since the Revolution of 1989 out there as well. Will try to locate some pictures. (FRONT) From my collection the gold looking one on the left is a modern repro. There is a version with a ball mount for the ribbon ring, (Right) and another lversion centre. Kevin in Deva.
