    1. Hallo Artan, am I right in thinking that this is a large group shot? If so can you post a picture of it as it is without being cropped? I notice two medal / Cross in the picture, and the pistol in the officers hand!! Kevin in Deva.
    2. Hallo Artan, By the way great pictures. I assume Bosnia, hence the use of the unsure forgive my ignorance, but, when was Albania part of the A-H Empire?? The number / letters on the Fez might be an indication of unit / Regiment, but too indistinct to my eyes. I think Rick might be able to add more to this discussion. Kevin in Deva.
    3. Hallo Artan Lame Looking at the Insignia on the Fez of some of the Unit, particularly the guy in the foreground I would say they are from a Heavy Machine-gun Unit, recruited in Bosnia? Insignia shown in close detail at: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3391...mp;#entry320267 Kevin in Deva.
    4. Under the profile the word "Hindenburg" Kevin in Deva.
    5. The cross in Post 10 is for membership in a military Veterans Association in Frankfurt Am Main. It is not issued by the military, the cross Ricky refers to was a III Reich award silver with a black swastika in the centre and hangs from a Cornflower blue ribbon the same as Prussian and Third Reich military service medals / crosses. cropped image from a medal bar in my collection The Hindenburg Medal is Patriotika, an unofficial award sold to raise money of the War campaign. Kevin in Deva.
    6. Hallo fackerman64 The item is possibly is one of the many unofficial commemorative medals and the ribbon reflects the national colours of Prussia, Germany. Medals featuring the portrait of Hindenburg, that was popular in the period of WW1 and post WW1 many coming under the title "Patriotika." (I will add a picture of one in my possession later, as its near to 1 in the morning here in Transylvania.) There is a strong possibility the medal and photo portrait are not connected to the same event. Kevin in Deva.
    7. Hallo Gordon, thanks for your post I have attempted to enlarge the area of the collar insignia for more detail, this is about the best I can get it though:- Kevin in Deva.
    8. Hallo Ian, I believe you are spot on, the tell-tale sign is the shape of the crown, with the bent cross on top. I will amend my post to reflect your identification. Kevin in Deva.

    18. Hallo Ricky, Longford always had a military garrison during the times of the British rule of Ireland. It was an important stop along the main road from Dublin - Mullingar - Sligo - Donegal. Here are some more pictures of the Comet making the journey from Longford to Athlone. Kevin in Deva.
