Hallo aurichnet,

there were rumors going about, near the end of World War II, compiled from after-action reports from British and US Bomber Pilots & Crews, about strange balls of fire and glowing discs that were seen while they were on bombing missions over Germany, the objects were refered to as "FOO FIGHTERS"

Might be an idea to try putting that name in Google and see what comes up.

The Germans were known to be trying many new variations of Jet propulsion systems out for their "Wonderwaffee" - "Wonder Weapons" (probaly means "I Wonder how it Works" ).
