Daniel Murphy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) Here is a buckle I got with a grouping belonging to Ottoman Leutnant W. Ottersbach who served in Ottoman Flieger Abteilung 6 at Chanakkale from 1916 to 1918. It is an otherwise normal wartime Turkish officer's buckle. The belt unfortunately did not survive the passage of time. Dan Edited September 19, 2006 by Daniel Murphy
lach470 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 COOL....first time I see such a buckle! Certainly has a Turkish flavour to it! NICE!Cheers...Rob
Tosun Saral Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I am not sure but with ottoman script the buckle must be before 1928. A buckle of granddress of officers. I add 3 photos of importand Turkish pashas with a buckle which has similarities.Enver Pasha
Rowan Stevens Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Boy what a fantastic Buckle! How can I find out about the different Buckles out there, is there a book or website for world Buckles?Great stuff.Rowan
lach470 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I don't think there's a book out there on buckles from around the world. Nash and Angolia pretty much have top spots for books on German belt buckles.Cheers!Rob
Rowan Stevens Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Oh well, I guess the internet is a great resource. Maybe somtimes we have to do the groundwork for ourselves LOLCheers Rob, and again what a great buckle that started this topic Rowan
