I have recived this 3rd class bronze medal, but it does not have the 1914-1918 bar, were they issued without the bar?

Hi Laurence,

It is a nice medal, however concerning your question, I think that the ribbon and bar were lost and someone replaced them with the ribbon for the cross.

The gold/yellow line in the middle is only for the cross-classes of this decoration.

So the bar was presumably lost together with the original ribbon.
