Eduardo Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I have some other postcards with German officers and soldiers which are being translated now. They have been written and mailed. They have dates, names and some other details. While I get those back I am here presenting one that has no reference at all. Maybe you might be able to help. Thanks in advance. EduardoPS. Where can I post one of an Italian officer and one of what I believe to be Austrian soldier in combat?
Chip Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Eduardo,The photo is too small to get any details of the uniform for a possible identification. A close-up of the rider from the chest up would be most helpful. Either that is a very large man or a very small horse!
Eduardo Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 Hello Chip. I have made the scan of big man. Let's see if there is anything to identify him. Thanks in advance.Eduardo
dwmosher Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 EduardoYou have a junior NCO (sergeant) which appears to be with the field artillery. Can you show a close-up of the cuff (should be Swedish) and the shoulder strap to comfirm this? RegardsDave
Eduardo Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 OK Dave, Thanks.here I am posting the cuffs and the shoulder strap. I guess the photo is not good enough as to be able to see the details . Hope it helps.Eduardo
Chip Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Eduardo,Dave was right on with his evaluation. Definitely a field artilleryman.Chip
