Daniel Murphy
I purchased this for the DSWA colonial officers uniform posted elsewhere, but now I realize this man would have been at least a Hauptmann pre war. This is probably an early WW1 bar, any chance of an ID? The ribbons are as follows:EK2RAO (4th?)PKO (4th?)25 year LSDSWA seviceKaiser Wilhelm centenary

Paul C
I think it is too generic for id.
Guest Rick Research
Probably Red Eagle 4 and Crown 3 which makes this a standard Prussian Oberstleutnant's combination. The lone SWA Medal ribbon was probably for a steel and not a combatant bronze medal because there is no Colonial Order "X."I'd say this is a classic circa 1916 bar, when this Pure Prussian was probably an Oberst...which means he retired as a Generalmajor. Daniel Murphy
Paul and Rick, Thanks, I thought there might not be enough for an ID (no non Prussians awards etc. )but it was worth a try. I had no idea it might have belonged to anyone over the rank of Major. Thats great news and thanks again. Dan
