paddywhack Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 better!againany help would be cool!!
Paul L Murphy Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Paddywhack, afraid to say it is a piece of poo. It is about as appealing as the very toxic nappy my 13 month old daughter created for me when I was on babysitting duty this evening. There is a huge variety of this stuff coming out of China. Genuine Imperial Chinese / Manchurian / Korean medals were well made and die struck from good quality metals. This crap is cast or poorly struck from cheap bronze. Also the obverses and reverses are often unrelated to each other but unless you can read Chinese that is not much help. In general, stay a mile away from anything that looks like this.
paddywhack Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 ah well not to worry!! as i said i got it with a number of stuff so no problem!!thanks again though for the quick response!!!
Paul L Murphy Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 To illustrate what I mean, here is the genuine Manchurian Enthronement Commemorative Medal whose obverse has been stolen for this monstrosity.
Ed_Haynes Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Come on, Paul. Think again. "Poo" is too kind for this . . . thing.
Paul L Murphy Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Ed, I'm not sure. Poo can be pretty bad, especially when it comes shooting out of the end of a 13 month old baby !
paddywhack Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 ah nice one!! good to see the real thing!! thanks guys!!
Bishop Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 It's a cheapy nasty made fake from China and Taiwan. You can find a whole lotta variety of such insignificant or who knowswhat medals in Taipei. It's definitely a piece of scrap metal, Paddy mate! Please treat it without respect....
