EK 1914 Opinions ON EK1

I've had this cross for a few months now and am wondering about the set up on the rear and the cross in general. I've never seen one quite like it. This cross has Third Reich demensions. What does everyone think? Is it OK?

i think it has been repaired at some point,

and would consider it an appropriate and

well done repair.

Thanks. You may be right on the repair. It's done well. Do you think the hardware of the catch is original?

Perhaps not original to the piece, but there is really no way of telling exactly when the repair my esteemed colleague has rightly observed was, in fact, made. The pin and catch, as well as its shape, certainly appear to indicate Third Reich period manufacture. I am quite fond of these interesting hybrids, and have a few in my collection.

Well that's good to hear. Sometimes you never know. This was my first Imperial EK1. I also have another Tr era piece made of all brass, one piece, and a really nice KO marked cross. Thanks for the input
