Robert Noss Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) Another portrait that I bought on sunday, just because I think the wearing of this badge seems a bit odd to me.What do You think ?Is it a forestry badge - an award ?Is it right to wear it on the military uniform, even at the place of a combat award ?Or do You think it is a Freikorps badge ? However I did not find a Freikorps badge that looks like this one. Thanks in advance for Your infos.Robert Edited November 21, 2006 by Robert Noss
Jacky Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi Robert, Nice picture, with a black wound badge too.I have seen those badges before!!!The deer with the cross between it's antlers comes from the legend of Saint Hubertus, who is now a patron Saint of the hunt.so a kind of membership badge of a Hunting-club?But I know also of a very special badge, designed by the emperor and awarded only to his hunting-compagnons, also royals. As I once readed that the king of the Netherlands had been awarded one, I have stored this fact somewhere in my mind. But as it was mainly to royals, I don't think it's this badge.....Gents,Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!Kind regards,Jacky
