PsyWar.Org Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Out of interest will WWI British bronze death plaques be included in the book?
Christian L Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 out of interest - as i wasn't able to find anywhere an answer - the death plaques have a number between the leg and tail of the lion and on the reverse a letter - what do they indicate? and why they are not always the same?christian
Tony Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Christian,The letter on the back states where the plaque was cast; the first one were cast at Acton but I believe this soon changed to Woolwich (Woolwich Arsenal). I've never seen a plaque with A on the reverse, the WA mark is much more common. The number between the back legs or between the leg and tail indicates the workman responsible for applying the name to the plaque.Tony
