Single old-style ribbon bar with unknown ribbon

Any ideas what award this single pre-1914 medal/ribbon bar might have been for? Brunswick?

Probably some sort of Kriegerverein award?

I've seen a similar ribbon, being used on a regimental commemorative (don't remember the regiment though). Instead of the blue and yellow outer stripes, it had very narrow white stripes with a black stripes about twice as wide on the outside.

Wish I could come closer, but I can definately say that it has the "look" of a vet's decoration ribbon.
