Ulsterman Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 heere's a little one I got off ebay-cheap too.The middle i believe is Taisho enthronement and the last a red cross membership commemorative (Manchuko?)...but what is the 1st one?Any thoughts on this little bar?Cheers,Ulster
Guest Rick Research Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Order of the Crown of Italy far from home? What's the back look like?
Ulsterman Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 Typical Japanese clip ins, nice patina, slightly stiffish -older.Got it for a song-
Riley1965 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Is that the correct ribbon for the Red Cross? I seem to remember it haveing more red than white. Doc
Ulsterman Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) The third ribbon seems to match the Manchukoan Red Cross commemorative medal in Peterson's Japan book (OMSA monograph #1-going into version #3 nowadays.)However, given the deafening silence from Paul, Jeff and Gordon I suspect this is a put together bar and not some minor officials (which is what I had supposed).Any ideas as to #1 is at all? Anyone? Edited January 24, 2007 by Ulsterman
Great Dane Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) No.2 is the Taisho Enthronement Medal (Japan) and no. 3 is the Enthronement Commemorative Medal (Manchuko). The bar is shown upside down. That would also make a foreign award (Italian Crown Order?) more plausible as the last of the three./Mike Edited January 24, 2007 by Great Dane
Ulsterman Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) could #3 (or #1 depending upon which way you look) be Chinese? Thanks Edited January 24, 2007 by Ulsterman
Paul L Murphy Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 No.2 is the Taisho Enthronement Medal (Japan) and no. 3 is the Enthronement Commemorative Medal (Manchuko). The bar is shown upside down. That would also make a foreign award (Italian Crown Order?) more plausible as the last of the three./MikeThat would be my view of it as well. An unusual combination of awards and it would suggest that it was to a native Manchurian rather than a Japanese, since otherwise the Taisho Enthronement would have been first.
