Laurence Strong Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Trying to find a photo. I can tell you this much:U-471 was a Type VIIIC built by Deutsche Werke in Kiel. She was launched 6.3.43, and her fate was to be bombed by the USAAF while in Toulon. After the war she was raised by the French and re-commisioned as the Q339 on the 9.7.63 she is stricken from service and broken up. Hope this helps some
