Burgerhaus (Robert) - If I am not mistaken, the pin you posted in #3 above is an association membership pin of the:

Verband der Kriegsbesch?digten und Kriegerhinterbliebenen im Deutsche Reichskriegerbund Kyffh?user

(Roughtly translated: League/Association of War Wounded and Missing-in-Action Members of the DRKB Kyffhauser)

    Hallo Gents,

while surfing the net tonight I came across this one:

At first glance I took it to have been a second class which had the ribbon mount broken off (see some damage to top left upper arm.

Then I saw this picture of the rear!

I have never seen one like this before and have to wonder is it a cast copy by some enterprising little monkey??

The rear catch in close up.

Near the start of the thread is a picture of an original First Class in Gold and White Enamel, with the strong pin we associate with German awards.

Any opinions, please feel free to post.

    Kevin in Deva.

    Hi Kev,

That's utter rubbish and I guess the main component is led. The hinge is typical for these poor fakes.

Here is the document confirming my man's appointment as "Kameradschaftsfuhrer" in the DRKB "Kyffhauser" dated 9.Februar 1938. (Note the Kyffhauserbund Type 1 logo, ie. no swastika).

Can anyone please tell me what kind of armband he might have worn, given this ranking in the organization? I have seen various ones out there, but am unsure which one I should try and acquire that is appropriate to his position at that time.

    Thanks,

    John
