Bob Lyons
I posted this one over on the WAF a fair while back, and thought I would show it here as well, a Luftwaffe Other Ranks buckle by Hermann Aurich, with tan 79 cammo. The reverse first.... lach470
Looks good! I also have a tan buckle but it's lighter coloured than your example - unless it's the lighting!.....and there isn't a tab to go with it either! Great buckle you have there! Cheers!Robps.......Bob: what do you mean by tan 79 cammo
Bob Lyons
Hi RobGlad you like it, the tan 79 is the Luftwaffe aircraft RLM code for the camouflage colours, and the aircraft tan paint was number 79 in their colour code chart, this buckle matches the tan exactly. It is a very pinky hued tan colour peculiar to the Luftwaffe.Bob (and I look forward to seeing your example too.....)

lach470
Here are a couple pics I took of the buckle....no sun here today so it's under artificial slighting. ...unfortunately, it doesn't give its natural colour but it's the best I could do for now.Cheers gang!Robps.....should also mention that this example is not factory produced but rather a field applied paint. lach470
Hey Bob! Thanks man! Glad you like it! These types of buckles are just super as you know they were handled by soldiers and not kept in a footlocker or depot for the entire war!Cheers!Rob
