Bundesrepublik Tank Destruction Strip

I have a tank destruction strip in gold with packet that I will post pictures of later, at work at the moment. My question is two fold, first, how can I determine wether or not its a pre-45 piece or a 57 piece? Second, could someone point me in the right direction for documentation/research, books etc that may contain what I am seeking.

I believe 1957 tank destruction pieces had a longer gun barrel, I attach a picture of mine for comparisson.

Size: 41+mm wide, 18mm high. Original had 3 pins, approxamatly 22mm long.

I dont have the cloth strip for it as the tank was a flea-market find in Germany.

The one I have has a metal backing plate that the prongs are stuck through, as part of the wool felt has come loose so you can see it.

I will keep looking for info..
