Rosenberg Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 If for nobody else then I believe this to be of interest for Mr.Lynn....I enjoyed most of what you posted,so this is a lil return...nothing much, but I have found this paper sheet among others today around my place.Never paid much attention to it,but it actually is an application for an apprentice as lock-smith with the Volkswagenwerk, more precise the Vorwerk, the pre-factory where the young boys were trained for their later position within the VW Stammwerk. Two things make the Vorwerk special, first for the unique way the kids were prepared for their professional life.Boys from all over Germany were coming to Wolfsburg to live at the campus of the Vorwerk.Their days were strictly organised and the results of their final skill test were always among the top ones. The utilized combination of practical and theoretical lectures was invented here and is still being used till today.2nd special thing is that all Vorwerkers belonged to their own HJ Bann.Enjoy the pic.....
ERIC Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 That's so cool Dan - I've never seen one of those before!ERIC
Rosenberg Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Thanks Eric.I agree, not seen before.I must correct the named location, while the Stammwerk was and is still located at Wolfsburg the Vorwerk was located at Braunschweig,a city near-by.If you are able to read German this is an interesting paper on the topic...http://www.bwpat.de/ausgabe9/kipp_bwpat9.pdf
