Chris Boonzaier Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hi,does anyone have any info about this unit? especially how big it was, how many companies etc?ThanksChris
Guest Rick Research Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 All I've got is that it was formed under a Captain von Brandis in January 1919 for action in the Baltic.
Chris Boonzaier Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 And here he is, of Douaumont fame.I have a doc group to a man who served with him in WW1 and in the Freikorps... was curious how big the Freikorps was.A few later SS Generals were in it, as was Ramcke.
Robin Lumsden Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 There's a uniform tunic from that Freikorps (elk horn collars) on display at the Rastatt museum. It also has a silver wire sleeve badge for the Guard Pioneers...............best one I've ever seen.
