Yankee Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Gentlemen,How about one of these (third from right)? Imperial Russian medal for zeal; I think that's what it's called. They show up from time to time on Imperial German groups.Regards,Wild CardYour bar certainly belonged to a man of some importance, received the small Nicolas ll medal for zeal in gold Thanks for showing.SincerelyYankee
saschaw Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Heiko, is the thread starting bar still yours? I hope so ... I found the Serbian cross on eBay with some information, but if these are right and for what it's worth, don't know ...
Kapitular Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Thank you Jacky,Aside from the Brunswick connection, I really like the "foreign" decorations on this group - not the usual. Unfortunately, I've never gotten an identification on it. I rather suspect that it belonged to a minor member of the Brunswick court or even household staff. Here is a better look at the entire group; front and back.Thank you again and best wishes,Wild CardI am quite sure, the bar belongs to a member of the brunswick court staff whith the charge of a "Lakai". I suppose, you can identify him, searching in the "Hof- und Staatshandbuch". Good luck!Kapitular
Kapitular Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) Here another interesting bar with an Imperial Russian medal, the little silvermedal "F?r Diensteifer".The bar is from a member of the oldenburg court, "Kammerdiener Thie".Best regardsKapitularSince we are talking about a Russian medal for Zeal, here it is on a Saxon bar.Kammerdiener_Thie_website.htm Edited November 21, 2007 by Kapitular
