Guest Rick Research
A nice little dark blue box with dark blue plush inside fitted to the cross and ribbon? That is the Schaumburg-Lippe Cross for Loyal Service on combatant ribbon. Very strangely for a German award, the reverse of the cross is completely blank. (So was the 1870 issue). This is little Schaumburg's equivalent of the Iron Cross. About 10,000 were awarded on the combatant ribbon. You will find other examples, an award document, and so on by doing a search for the name of the award here.
