Ralph A Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 This next series of two dozen or more posts deserves a thread of their own. My Leipzig Fair collection. It's incomplete; I've been working on it for years. They are not too glamorous, and in most instances the reverses are the more interesting parts. They read like a compendium of German badge-makers and jewelers.
Ralph A Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Note each's unique serial number. Also note there were two fairs a year; I'll do the spring series from 1920 on, after I've posted all the fall ones.
Ralph A Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Note on that last one - and going forward - many advertise on their reverses the next fair's dates. This one gets in a pitch for the maker's other wares as well.
Ralph A Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 1937. Last one. If you come across one I don't have, please let me know. Thanks.
