Guest Rick Research Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Hermann Johann Paul Borchert apparently was born in 1888 (Draft Class 1908) but apparently joined up as a Naval Artillery volunteer 2 August 1914.Promoted 26.9.17 as supernumerary Artillerie Maat (Unteroffizier)30.11.18 Oberartilleriemaat (Sergeant) discharged 10.12.18 to Flensburg Main unitsfrom 8.11.14 in 1st battery/ 2nd Marine Artillery Regimentfrom 18.3.18 in IInd Battalion/ Heavy Corps Artillery Regimentall in Marinekorps Flandern.Decorations are a bit smeared, butEK2 31.?.15, Mecklenburg-Schwerin FFC 2nd ("MK2") 14.(11.?)15, MK1 (30.11.16 ?), EK1 20.11.17which is astonishing for a junior Petty Officer.Find me his exact birthdate on that, please. It should be on the very first page. If it was 25 August, then he was a geriatric Marine Artillery retread officer--in 1936 Oberleutnant (MA-E) 1.6.25in 1937 Kapit?nleutnant (MA-E) 1.10.37 #1and I lose him after the 1.1.39 Naval Birthdays Directory.
