its a British Regimental medal, possibly the Scots Guards. and also possibly pre WW1.

Yes, one of the (probably) thousands of regimental medals, some nicely made, some historically interesting, all quite unofficial, all undocumented and unresearched.

I'm guessing 92nd Foot - the Gordon Highlanders, the sphinx in star resembles their old shoulder belt plate & some of the bettle honours fit tho' I have'nt checked them all.
