Guest Rick Research Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 OK, hands down no questions asked, the WEIRDEST award there has ever been is the 1918 Georgian Order of Saint/Queen Tamara. NOTHING beats a nymphomaniac royal serial killer canonized for political reasons being given by Godless Socialists to Imperial Germans for stopping their own Ottoman Turkish allies. But in the running for second place, I would like to nominate the Bavarian Order of Saint Michael. The Greeks put JESUS one of theirs (Order of the Redeemer). So what did the Bavarians do?They put Satan's BUTT on theirs. Not even discreetly, in BACK. Nope, it's right out FRONT:The Brits and the Russkies at least had the sense to go all metaphorical and symbolic... with their Saint Georges and their dragons.Oh, we got bat-wings in Bavaria all right. But there's Saint Mike, shoving a Roman sandal (EW!) up the diabolical gluteus maximus of Ol' Hornet Face and gettin' ready to throw DOWN with some Fork-ed Lightning.Di-vin-e ret-rib-uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-tion! YOUCH!!!!How does THAT come out to decades of loyal service to the state?
Chris Boonzaier Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Imagine if they used the same style of imagery on the military medals!!!
