airborne steve Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Hi everyone! Pictured is a concentration camp guard watch coat. I have had this discussed on another forum but I would like your thoughts on it. Here is the link to the other forum: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...ad.php?t=224308This is my first SS item and I have been doing a lot of research on the subject and with help of other SS collectors I feel that the coat is good. The eagle is zig-zag sewn and it does not go through the lining. All of the origional thread is in tact so it is not a post war add on. The eagle is according to a well known SS collector, a rare embroidered version. All comments welcome.Cheers!Steve

Paul R Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Hi Steve,It is great to see you about!! I do not have any experience with SS uniforms or insignia, but I from what experience I have with the Luftwaffe uniforms, I can find nothing wrong with the set in regard to construction, insignia, or application of insignia.Maybe some of the more experienced SS collectors can say something of a bit more benefit.Paul

The controversey stemmed around the eagle but Bob Hirtz put an end to that by stating that the eagle was 100% good and then backed it up with tons of proof! This is a really cool coat! I have been researching SS uniforms and stuff and I intend on buying some SS things in the the future. I'm still in the process of buying better camera equipment to take better pictures. My photos suck pretty bad at the moment. Take it easy.Cheers, Steve Edited August 28, 2007 by airborne steve
