Guest Rick Research Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Otto von Schraderborn 18 March 1888 Lyck, East Prussiasuicide Bergen, Norway 19 July 1945Admiral zur See (rank on his overcoat) 1.3.42 #1Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross 19.8.43-- so these must be from winter 1943/44 or winter 1944/45 from the snow.Commanding Admiral of the Norwegian West Coast 9 April 1940 to 19 July 1945.He also got the German Cross in Gold 20.11.1941.He had been a Uboat officer in the First war.You find some very nice things! Guest Rick Research Posted September 6, 2007 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Nothing written on them to show where they were taken?That building looks like a hotel/restaurant (there are people eating at tables outside-- in the wintertime!) and it might be interesting to do a "Then And Now" with a photo taken from the same spot. The officer wearing M43 type cap in front with von Schrader has what looks like a general's collar patch peaking out over his overcoat lapels.
