France unknown foreign legion item?

Hello,

I'm asking this on behalf of someone I know.

He found a lot of items in a former Foreign legion camp near Carcasonne.

including these items.

The left on is a foreign legion button, however we can't make out the item on the right.

it says: 15''' STELLA-BRENNER

anybody any clue?

Hi, sorry to disappiont but it is a makers name and they made petrol lamps. Most likely some part of one. Please see example posted.

Hallo Gents

BRENNER is German I believe for BURNER! I feel tynesideirish is correct about this piece being a lamp, possibly a parraffin lamp as petrol would be a very risky fuel due to the vapors.

I was just about to post something I found out as I read your replies.

I also found out it is indeed from a petrol lamp, so not military but nice to find out what was used in the foreign legion camp.
