Belaruski Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Just picked this up recently. I'm presuming it's not an Umalatova award, but something akin to one. Certainly not official!Note the 'General purpose ribbon'.
Christian Zulus Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Dear Belaruski,I think, that the basic design - concerning artistic quality - of that medal is rather fine and good , BUT the finish is more than crude .It's something like a private medal of a Veterans Club ?Best regards Christian
Ferdinand Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Yes, it's issued by the Russian War Veterans Committee. They issued a handful of medals, one of which is the Medal for 60 Years of Victory above (Медаль "60 лет Победы").
Belaruski Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) Not a common medal, and here's one on ebay should anyone want one (Christian perhaps )<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RUSSIAN-USSR-MEDAL-60yrs-VICTORY-IN-WWII-STALIN-SCARCE_W0QQitemZ260197208457QQihZ016QQcategoryZ4724QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RUSSIAN-USSR-MEDAL-6...1QQcmdZViewItem</a> Edited January 4, 2008 by Belaruski
Ferdinand Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Yes, it's a nice and not very common medal. I was already following that one in My eBay Please don't bid, I want it
Christophe Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 This medal is frequently / often for sale in Moscow flea market of Izmailovo, for - let's say - around 4-500 RR, so 12-15 euros...Cheers.Ch.
Christophe Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 And, in this thread :http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13730&st=20Please, look at post #40 and #45 : the ribbon is sometimes "changing"... Cheers.Ch.
